Big things were expected of Elite Series rookie Daisuke Aoki this year. But the 39-year-old Japanese angler has struggled through the first three tournaments. He entered this event ranked 92nd out of 94 anglers in the AOY standings. Early this morning on Chickamauga, Aoki is performing more like expected. He landed a 7-pounder at 7:48, the big bass of the day so far, to go with a 4-pounder and a 2-4 to give him the early lead with 13-4.
