Some may think Randy Howell's Bassmaster Classic win on Lake Guntersville, when he rallied from 11th place, 9 pounds behind the leader, was some sort of once in a lifetime deal.
But what occurred yesterday in this event provided further evidence that all 12 finalists have a chance to win today. Skeet Reese jumped from 11th place to second place with 25 pounds, 1 ounce. In the process, he shaved 8-10 off the lead that Mike Iaconelli had over him.
The gap between first-place Iaconelli and 11th place Chad Morgenthaler is only 8-9. Brent Ehrler is 8-15 behind Ike.
Finally, consider this: Skeet made that big jump with "only" 25-1. He didn't need one of those 30-pound bags that everyone knows is possible on Guntersville.
