During his shelter at home time, Steve Kennedy has been catching up on the “I’ll get to it when I have time list” and various chores around the house. He fixed cabinet doors that haven’t completely shut in 12 years, and he welded a chair leg back on.

Helping the kids, Steve engineered a net on the dining room table with stuff from around the house — tulle (netting) from a wedding shower, clamps, fishing line and duct tape. Tennis balls were added for safety.

I read on a community Facebook page that the neighborhoods were putting bears in windows for the kids “Going on a Bear Hunt.” The idea is kids going on walks would “hunt” for bears in windows. Because it’s Auburn, I used a tiger. Steve built this swing for my Aubie to sit in the window.

He has time to break down, clean and oil his reels. He puts the gears and bearings in ultrasonic jewelry cleaner — which he bought for me — for vibrating the grime out.
