HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Capital City Bassmasters hosted the 2016 Pennsylvania B.A.S.S. Nation CastingKids State Championship at Bass Pro Shops in Harrisburg, July 30.
“There were qualifiers from all over the state competing for scholarships courtesy of Sutliff Chevrolet, trophies from the Pennsylvania B.A.S.S. Nation and rod and reel combos from Bass Pro Shops,” said Bob Herman of the Capital City club.
“We held contests all over the state, and the high scorers were invited to compete for the championship,” Herman said. “It was a fun day for everyone.”
In the youngest age group, ages 7 to 10, Nicholas Slear of Carlisle took the top prize. Behind him were Brodie Paul of Harrisburg and Wyatt Musselman of Dauphin.
In the 11- to 13-year-olds group, Lindsey Stine of Elizabethtown was victorious. Second place went to Cameron Zimmerman of Halifax.
Thalia Correa of Mechanicsburg won the oldest age bracket, ages 14 to 17.
“You can see by the picture they had a great time,” said Herman.
