The Texas BASS Federation Nation (TX BFN) is known throughout the country as a Federation Nation chapter that likes to set the bar high. This weekend will be no exception.
Together with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the TX BFN will play host to an angler/biologist workshop on Saturday, August 7, at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens, Texas. Topics of discussion will range from habitat enhancement projects to ways to improve survival of tournament-caught fish. Following the formal presentations will be a town hall meeting where anglers and biologists can interact and share ideas about fisheries conservation. Sound like something you'd like to see? Well, you're in luck because the meeting will be streamed live at www.livestream.com/tbfn.
But that's not all! Following the meeting, Bassmaster Elite Series angler Alton Jones will kickoff the first ever TX BFN fundraising banquet to raise support for the various conservation and youth efforts around the state. Based on similar successful models of Ducks Unlimited and the Coastal Conservation Association, the banquet could serve as a model for other BASS Federation Nation chapters around the nation to raise money for their critical grassroots efforts.
