Itâs several miles from the launch area to the main lake, and we were there waiting on anglers running to their starting places. 1/33
Derek Remitz and John Crews were running side by side …2/33
… until Crews peeled off to enter the mouth of a creek. 3/33
Jon Englund gave us a wave as he sped by. 4/33
Just behind Englund was Jim Dillard.5/33
Terry Scroggins needs a win on Seminole to qualify for the Bassmaster Classic, after failing to make it in the Elite Series pointâs standings. 6/33
Another flight of boats comes speeding our way. 7/33
Local favorite J. Todd Tucker was leading the pack. 8/33
Tucker shows us where he wants to finish. 9/33
Co-anglers catch the brunt of the wind. 10/33
Britt Myers came speeding by …11/33
… just ahead of Hank Cherry. Cherry banks his boat to slide across Myersâ boat wake.12/33
Cherry slides back in behind Myers. 13/33
Mike Kernan was zeroing in on his first waypoint. 14/33
Then Patrick Pierce sped past us.15/33
Gerald Swindle followed close behind. Both Pierce and Swindle obviously had places to be. 16/33
Russ Lane looked like he was out for a casual stroll on the lake. 17/33
While this group of contenders was jockeying for position while running the curving boat trail across Lake Seminole. 18/33
Warren Barnes peels away from the pack. 19/33
Anglers began to settle down on their first fishing spots.20/33
They then chose their starting weapons.21/33
Thus began Day 1 on Lake Seminole. 22/33
Drew Cook was the first angler we saw boat a keeper fish. 23/33
Meanwhile, some of the later flights of boats were still speeding to their starting spots. 24/33
Navigating Lake Seminole often involves running across shallow, stump filled waters. 25/33
Brett Pruett started his day pitching and flipping hydrilla. 26/33
Which is also a common spot to see coots. 27/33
Points were a popular place to start the day. 28/33
Hank Cherry is one of several Elite Series anglers in the field…29/33
… along with J Todd Tucker. 30/33
Tucker, who grew up fishing on Lake Seminole, decided to try another location. 31/33
We decided to stay with Tucker for awhile …32/33
… but couldnât keep up after impaling our camera boat on one of the thousands of stumps on Lake Seminole. 33/33
