Gene Lerew
Gene Larewâs new 3 3/4-inch Ned Rig âInch Wormâ is designed specifically for the Midwest finesse fishing technique of using a small plastic bait on a light jighead. The particular finesse combo is also commonly called a âNed Rig,â named after Ned Kehde who popularized the tactic.
The Inch Worm features a large head and fast-tapering body that ends with a short straight tail and tiny swim foot. Its back is smooth with a centerline groove to serve as an alignment guide for rigging a jighead or hook. The wormâs belly has forward facing âridgesâ that contribute to the action during retrieve. The tail adds more life, providing a bobbing motion at rest and a tight-swimming action when moved.
The Inch Worm gets its name from the fact it has measurement marks along its back, measured from the tail, in one-half inch increments. The âinchâ markers are slightly larger and elevated above the body, and indicate 1-, 2- and 3-inch lengths. Half-inch markers are in between. The Inch Worm is available in 10 colors and comes 7 per bag. MSRP $3.99.
