
This new reel touts âMetal Where It Mattersâ ⦠which makes it one of the lightest on the market (5.9 ounces).

Continuing with the âMetal Where It Mattersâ theme, the PTi is the spinning version of Quantumâs new lightweight, ultra-strong EXO series.This reel comes in two sizes: The 25 series holds 150 yards of 8-pound line, and the 30 size holds 150 yards of 10-pound line.

This combo is made with premium components, many of which have made Daiwa one of the top equipment manufacturers in the industry. Graphite blanks, aluminum oxide guides, a hooded reel seat and several actions make it a viable option for anglers looking for an out-of-the-box combo.

Daiwa’s top-of-the-line baitcaster is this hot-rod reel. The 3D stands for the three modes the reel is capable of: All Around, Max Brake and Long Cast. When a switch on the bottom of the reel is flipped, the reel automatically adjusts itself, allowing you to make the most efficient cast possible. Each mode can be further tuned for the best casting experience possible.

This speedster is Daiwa’s newest addition to its baitcasting line. It’s a svelte 5.3 ounces, has a 6.8:1 gear ratio, 10 ball bearings and a high-tech Magforce Z anti-backlash system. It’s available in both right- and left-hand retrieve and has a max drag of 11 pounds.

The Ballistic is one of the more loaded mid-priced spinning reels on the market. It features the Air Rotor of the Certate but also has an Air Bail, a lightweight design that increases sensitivity and reduces weight. It’s also loaded with anti-corrosive materials from the bearing to the sealed drag.

Daiwa took a page out of NASA’s book to make the rotor bearing as long-lasting and smooth as possible: magnetic oil, a nano-fluid. Another key to the Certate’s performance is the Air Rotor, which features corrosion-proof Zaion carbon.

With four Shimano SUS bearings and an A-RB (anti-rust) roller bearing, the new Curado G reels weigh 6.9 ounces and each will handle 155 yards of 10-pound test mono or 120 yards of 50-pound PowerPro braid. The Curado 200G7 and 201G7, with 7.1:1 gear ratios, will retrieve 30-inches of line per crank; the Curado 200G6 and 201G6, with 6.5:1 gear ratios, will pull in 27-inches of line per crank; while the Curado 200G5 winds in 23-inches of line per crank with its 5.5:1 gear ratio.

The six 200-size reels weigh in at 7.6 ounces, while the compact 50-size reels weigh 7.1 ounces.

The new Sustain FG reels include a long list of proven Shimano features, including a Propulsion Line Management System to virtually eliminate any line twist and increase casting distance; Paladin Gear Durability Enhancement; a durable, cold-forged aluminum drive gear; SR Concept; Aerowrap II; Dyna-Balance; and Super Stopper II.

To promote the bail on its newest spinning reel, Quantum practically dares customers to damage it. Its bail wire is made of nickel-titanium and is designed to be the most bend-resistant bail on the market. Whatâs more, every component of the Accurist PT is torture-tested in Quantumâs lab for longevity. It comes in gear ratios of 5.2:1 and 5.3:1, and weighs 8. 4 to 12.6 ounces, depending on the model.

The ABLe “wave-bar” replaces the traditional levelwind feature that’s been a staple on baitcast reels for decades. U.S. Reel touts it as the “most significant development in baitcast reels in 30 years.”

Ardent’s Edge features new technology designed to improve the drag system on its baitcast reels. Drag Tracking Technology allows the levelwind on the reel to track parallel with the line location on the spool as line peels off in drag mode. On other reels, the levelwind is stationary and produces sharp line angles and variances in drag pressure that may cause lines to break.

Tournament MG Series is the newest addition to the Lewâs baitcast reel family. This series has a one-piece die-cast aluminum frame, 10 double-shielded stainless steel bearings, graphite side covers and a longer than ordinary “power crank” handle. The MG comes in four models, including one left-handed version.

The T3 baitcasting reel has a T-Wing levelwind system that reduces line friction and increases casting length. A three-position switch allows anglers to shift between “All-Around,” “Maxbrake” and “Longcast” modes and choose between 6.3:1 and 7.1:1 gear ratios.
